Craig McRae was born on September 22, 1973 in Adelaide, Australia, to Mr. and Mrs. McRae.

Craig McRae is an Australian professional rugby union player who was drafted 22nd overall by the Brisbane Bears in 1994.
He played for the Brisbane Bears/Lions for 10 seasons from 1995 to 2004. Known for his excellent long-range shooting ability, aggressive tackling ability and ability to find loose balls, McRae was a key member of the Brisbane Lions squad.
He won three premierships with the Brisbane Lions in 2001, 2002 and 2003 before retiring after the 2004 Grand Final loss. McRae played 195 games and kicked 232 goals in his career.
Craig McRae is an experienced and successful Australian Football League (AFL) coach. He has held various coaching roles at Richmond, Collingwood and Hawthorn and has played a key role in their success.
McRae won numerous awards, including VFL Coach of the Year while coaching Richmond’s VFL team.
He also played a key role as assistant coach in Richmond’s three premiership victories. McRae is the Senior Coach of the Collingwood Football Club, a position he has held since 2022.
