Cyril Ramaphosa (born 17 November 1952) is the most respected South African citizen today.
He is a politician from South Africa. He has been the President of South Africa since 2018.
He has also been the president of the African National Congress (ANC) since 2017, the ruling party of South Africa.
He served as Secretary General to President Nelson Mandela and Deputy President to President Jacob Zuma.
He was also chairman of the National Planning Commission from 2014 to 2018.
He was previously an anti-apartheid activist, businessman and trade union leader.

Early life
Cyril Ramaphosa was born on 17 November 1952 in Soweto Johannesburg to Venda parents.
His parents are Erdmuth and Samuel Ramaphosa, a retired police officer.
He attended Tshilidzi Primary School and Sekano Ntoane High School in Soweto in 1971.
He was elected President of the Christian Students Movement in Venda. He went to study law at the University of the North (Turfloop) in 1972 in Limpopo province.
He became involved in student politics, joining the South African Students’ Organisation (SASO) and the Black People’s Convention (BPC) while at university.
Cyril Ramaphosa was detained incommunicado in 1974 for 11 months for organizing pro-Frelimo demonstrations. After the 1976 Soweto riots, he was detained again for 6 months in John Vorster Square under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
He obtained his B.proc. in 1981 from the University of South Africa. He also became a law clerk at a law firm in Johannesburg after his release.
Education
Cyril Ramaphosa attended primary school at Tshilidzi Primary School, then attended Sekano Ntoane High School in Soweto.
He graduated from Mphaphuli High School in Sibasa, Venda in 1971, where he was elected head of the Christian Students Movement.
In 1972, he enrolled to study law in Limpopo province at the University of the North.

Cyril Ramaphosa was a trade union leader, businessman, and anti-apartheid activist. He was also Secretary General to President Nelson Mandela and Deputy President to President Jacob Zuma.
He was also the chairman of the National Planning Board from 2014 to 2018. He is the executive chairman of Millenium Consolidate Investments (MCI) and also the non-executive chairman of Johnnic Holdings.
Cyril Ramaphosa is also the chairman of the Black Economy Commission. He is a director of South African Breweries, First Rand Limited, Macsteel Holdings, etc.
