early life

Dai Weiss was born into the Akandu family on May 23, 1998. His parents named him Ifeanyi Chineme Lennon. He was born and raised in the city of Lagos and currently resides in the Surulere metropolis.

He is the second child and the eldest son of his father, Boniface Akandu, an entrepreneur and his mother, Akandu, who owns a chain of grocery stores.

Born into an Igbo Christian family, Dai Weiss has been attending church since he was a child, and his parents taught him good moral values. As an indigene of Imo State, he and his family would return to their hometown to visit relatives during holidays.

As a child living in Lagos, Dai Weiss was deeply influenced by the music of top Nigerian artists (such as D’Banj, P-Square, 2Baba, Davido, Wizkid) and American pop singers (such as Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, Beyoncé, Neo). This inspired him to create music and he began to write his own songs and sometimes cover his favorite pop songs.
