early life

Dandizzy was born on October 6 in the early 1990s to Mr. and Mrs. Darius in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

He is from Opobo in Rivers State in southern Nigeria.

He grew up with his siblings in a poor neighbourhood in Port Harcourt.

He loved music as a child and would perform freestyle rap for his friends. He began writing his own songs and singing them to his parents, siblings and close friends.

His nickname is also “Wave Daddy”.

Dandizzy obtained his first secondary school certificate in Rivers State.

He received his secondary education at Sure Way High School and obtained his West African School Certificate after six years of study.

After graduating from high school, he enrolled at the University of Port Harcourt to pursue a degree in Computer Engineering and Information Communications Technology.

He later dropped out of college to pursue a career in music full-time.

His career began in 2009. Since then, he has collaborated with artists such as Ajebo Hustlers, DJ Joenel, Dr Barz, Blaqbonez, and many more.

He has competed with top rap artists such as MI Abaga, Vector and Olu Keep, and has won rap competitions such as Sprite Triple Slam and Rhythm Rap Competition.

Some of his hit singles include “Egweji”, “Garni”, “Woskey” and “Who Goes Der”. The latter single was released in 2018 and topped the major Nigerian music charts for several weeks.

In 2020, he held a live concert in his hometown of Port Harcourt.

He released the single “Denge Pose” in December 2020 in collaboration with Bad Boy Timz.

He won the Artist of the Year Award at the Galaxy Music Awards in 2018. He also won the Best Rap Single Award in the same year.

In December 2020, he was one of the headlining artistes at the Empire Carnival held at Bakana Town Square in Rivers State.

On January 2, 2021, he performed live at the Let’s Relate Party held at Yabarowe Park in Lagos.

In 2017, he signed a record deal with Cadilly Entertainment. Two years later, he left the label and joined Camloe Records in 2019.
