Early life and education
Daniel Andrews, the current Premier of Victoria, was born on 6 July 1972 in Williamstown, a suburb south-west of Melbourne. His parents are Bob Andrews (father) and Jan Andrews (mother).
Dan Andrews has three siblings: Peter Andrews, Bob Andrews Jr. and Sarah Andrews. Of these, Sarah is the only female. Andrews returned to Melbourne in 1990 after completing his degree to pursue further studies at Monash University.
While there, Daniel Andrews resided at Mannix College and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in politics and classical literature in 1996.
Career
Daniel Andrews has made some big changes during his time as Victorian Health Minister. He pushed through the Victorian Health Reform Act 2008 to improve and enhance health care efficiency. Under his watch, initiatives such as Cancer Agency Victoria and upgrade ambulance services, achieving significant strides in health care.
After Labor lost the 2010 state election, Andrews took over the party in December that year. His leadership set the stage for their victory in the 2014 state election, leading to his becoming Premier on 2 December 2014.
