Daphne Muriël Deckers (born 10 November 1968) is a 55-year-old Dutch model, television presenter, author and part-time actress.
She began her career in 1989 by appearing in the television show RTL-Véronique.
During her time at RTL she hosted Holland’s Next Top Model, taking over from Yfke Sturm after the show’s second season.
Daphne Dirks began her career as a model. Later, she began her acting career and starred in the James Bond movie Tomorrow Never Dies.
Additionally, she co-presented the first season of Big Brother in 1999. Currently, she writes children’s books and books on family life and related topics.

early life
Daphne Deckers was born on November 10, 1968 to Johan Deckers (father) and Miep Deckers-Hageman (mother).
She has an older brother, Clark Dex. After she was born in Nijmegen, the family moved to the small town of Persing.
While studying mass communications, Daphne Dirks became a model. In 1997, she posed for Playboy magazine and appeared in the magazine’s February 1998 issue.

Daphne Dirks has held several acting jobs. She has appeared in the American NBC miniseries Remember, which was adapted from the novel by Barbara Taylor Bradford.

In 1993, Daphne Deckers was asked to write a weekly column for a newspaper in Limburg, and soon after, she began writing a column for a publication called Veronicablad.
The Dutchman began writing a weekly column for Viva in late 1994. Then in 1999 she combined all these columns into a book called De Echte Deckers (1999).
After her book was published, she continued to write a weekly column for the Telegraph. She combined these columns into two books: Opwaartse drukte (2002) and Decksels (2005). Today, she continues to write a weekly column for the Telegraph and a column for Reader’s Digest.
Daphne Derks published two books which earned her the title of “model mother”. She published these books; De geboorte van een moeder and De geboorte van een gezin.
Her book “De geboorte van een gezin” was nominated for the NS Publiekprijs in 2003. Daphne Deckers not only writes books about growing up, but also children’s books, including “De matroos in De doos”, “De veschrikkelijke start” and “Marijn in de woestijn”.
In 2007, her second children’s novel was adapted into a play and in 2012 she wrote her first romance novel, Alles is zoals het zou moeten zijn. The novel was adapted into a film in 2020. The film, Alles is zoals het zou moeten zijn, was an extraordinary success, becoming the third highest-grossing film at the Dutch box office in 2020.
