Darkoo stated that she had secured all necessary licenses for the sample used in her song, stressing that her removal of the video was not due to copyright or contractual issues but rather to pay personal enmity. She said that Peter Okoye tried to get himself featured in the song and when she refused, he took actions to sabotage the success of the song. Darkoo’s public statements suggest that Peter even created his own verse for the song that she did not include, leading to what she described as retaliation by the songwriter.
