In addition, Darwin Núñez also represents the Uruguay national team in international competitions.

Early life and education
Darwin Núñez, from Artigas, Uruguay, was born on June 24, 1999. Born into a family struggling with poverty, his father, Bibiano Núñez, worked as a construction worker, while his mother, Silvia Ribeiro, made a living selling milk bottles.
Growing up with his older brother Junior Núñez, Darwin Núñez did not have the opportunity to pursue further education beyond elementary school as he did not attend formal educational institutions.
Career
Darwin Núñez’s football story began in 2016 when he began his journey with Peñarol, a club based in Montevideo, Uruguay. At just 17 years old, he burst onto the professional scene, quickly establishing himself as one of Uruguay’s most promising talents.
In 2019, Darwin Núñez’s path led him to UD Almería, a team in the Spanish Segunda División, where he showcased his talent by scoring an impressive 16 goals in 28 appearances. This important contribution played a key role in Almería’s promotion to La Liga.
2020 marked a new chapter as Darwin Núñez joined Benfica for a club record fee of €24 million. He wasted no time in making his mark, scoring an impressive 26 goals in his first season, a feat achieved in 41 games.
