Early life and education
David ‘Dave’ Khari Webber Chappelle was born on August 24, 1973, to William David Chappelle III and Yvonne Seon (formally Chappelle). He has a brother named William S. Chappelle.
He comes from a family of educators, his father is a professor and his mother is a university professor and administrator.
Dave Chappelle grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland, and attended Woodline Elementary School.
Due to Dave’s parents’ political activism, they hosted famous guests such as Pete Seeger and Johnny Hartman, who reportedly predicted Dave Chappelle’s comedy career.
While in school, young Dave Chappelle was inspired by the likes of Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor.
