David Corenswet was born on July 8, 1993, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he grew up.
His father, John Corenswet, came from a prominent Jewish family in New Orleans and was a stage actor for many years in New York City before becoming a lawyer.
His mother, Carolyn Packard, is an attorney who specializes in conflict resolution for nonprofit organizations, and his sister, Amy Corenswet, graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
Edward Packard, the originator of the Choose Your Adventure book concept and author of more than 50 novels in the series, is David Cronthwaite’s grandfather. His grandmother was an outspoken Christian.
