Meet Deanna Richardson, mother of chef Erin French. A lifelong educator, Deanna became Erin’s support system during the worst time of her life after her divorce from ex-husband Todd French. Todd and Erin are the co-founders of Lost Kitchen.

But Erin lost everything from her job to her apartment to her son. She considered suicide. Erin wanted to believe that her husband was a “good guy,” but he wasn’t.

Now, after closing the original Lost Kitchen, Todd works as a designer and builder. He owns French & Webb outright. He met his partner, Peter Webb, while working as a teacher at The Landing School in Arundel, Maine.

Last we checked, Todd’s company was repairing the Sequoia, and Kathy Pickering, the Belfast port manager. His work has also been featured in several documentaries, including Alison Langley Films’ “NY40 MARILEE: Restoring a Herreshoff Classic.”

Deanna, who had experience working with troubled children, begged her daughter to get help. She stayed with her to make sure she ate, was safe, and slept. They gave her a scale of 1 to 10, 10 meaning she was feeling good. Her depression got worse and she went to a rehabilitation center in Chicago.

A month after returning, Erin borrowed $5,000 from friends and family and bought a 1965 Airstream trailer. She lived in the Airstream for over a year. She opened her restaurant in Maine and has now learned how to start from scratch and build things using only what is available.

Erin is currently married to her husband Michael Dutton. Michael is her media advisor and her brand: The kitchen is lost. He is working as an executive producer of The kitchen is lost.

Michale has been working as a co-founder/managing partner at 6ccMediaa content strategy and production company, as of January 2018. Previously, he worked for the Associated Press, Mesmerise Global, and Matterport.
