Deola Smart Adeyemi was born into the prestigious family of Mr. and Mrs. Adeyemi in Kogi State on November 21, 1992.

Her father is a sitting Senator in the National Assembly representing Kogi West Senatorial District. Senator Smart Adeyemi previously served two terms (2007-2011) and (2011-2015).

Senator Adeyemi is a former journalist and former President of the Nigerian Union of Journalists.
