He grew up in a modest one-bedroom apartment in the Bay Area, which he shared with three other families.
Mann’s parents, Surinder Mann and Baljit Singh Mann, immigrated to the United States from India. They own Friendly Cab, a taxi company based in Oakland, California.
The Mann family also owns several local real estate companies, managing more than 130 properties in the area.
