By August 2015, this number had exceeded 30 million. On this basis, the sequel “Diablo IV” was launched in 2019 and subsequently launched on June 5, 2023.

Diablo 3 gameplay
Diablo III, similar to its predecessors Diablo and Diablo II, embodies an action role-playing game that immerses players in dynamic real-time combat in an isometric graphics engine. Rooted in classic dark fantasy elements, players take on the mantle of a heroic avatar entrusted with protecting the kingdom of Sanctuary from the evil forces of Hell. At the core of the gameplay are prominent role-playing elements such as character career selection, experience accumulation, leveling up, and the acquisition of increasingly powerful equipment.
The diversity and attributes of equipment in the game are random. In addition to basic stats like weapon damage and armor points, higher quality items have supplementary properties such as increased damage output, stat enhancements, increased critical hit chance, or slots that allow for enhancements via gem insertion.
Magic-level items have up to three variable properties, rare-level items have up to six, and legendary-level items typically have up to eight properties, with varying degrees of unpredictability. It’s worth noting that legendary items can be part of a set, providing cumulative benefits when multiple set items are equipped together. It’s worth noting that the opponent’s level affects the quality of the items they drop, causing higher level monsters to spawn advanced gear with enhanced base stats and advantages.
Diablo III runs on Blizzard’s proprietary engine, which features its in-house physics engine and the combination of destructible environments with in-game damage representation. The aim is to enable the game to run effectively on a wide range of systems without requiring DirectX 10. Diablo III uses a custom 3D game engine to present players with a top-down perspective, reminiscent of the isometric view of previous iterations. Enemies dynamically interact with the 3D environment, occasionally scaling walls and entering combat areas from unexpected angles.
