Early life
Born at Amana Hospital in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on October 2, 1989, Diamond Platnumz, considered one of Africa’s leading and most influential artists, grew up at his grandmother’s house in Tandale West.
His real name is Naseeb Abdul Juma.
Tanzanian star Diamond Platnumz, also known as Chibu Dangote, grew up as his mother’s only child.
Since his father was no longer around, his mother and grandmother were forced to rent out part of the room in their house to cover daily needs and pay bills.

Diamond Platnumz began his education by attending Chakula Bora Nursery School in 1995, then he attended Tandale Magharibi School in 1996, where he graduated in 2002.
Interestingly, Diamond Platnumz started showing interest in music when he was in fifth grade.
He started singing and imitating local and international artists whenever he got the chance.
Career
Diamond Platnumz is one of the most popular artists in East and Central Africa. He is one of the highest earners in the music industry in the African Great Lakes region.
On 23 January 2019, Diamond Platnumz was officially introduced as Pepsi East Africa Brand Ambassador. On 13 September 2019, he became Parimatch Africa Brand Ambassador.
Furthermore, on September 25, 2019, Diamond Platnumz was named Nice One Brand Ambassador. On March 4, 2020, he was announced as the new Brand Ambassador of Coral Paints (Tanzania).
In 2021, Diamond Platnumz and his record label WCB Wasafi signed a 360 partnership with Warner Music Group.

Diamond Platnumz is Muslim. He has two children with his ex-partner, Ugandan-born South African businesswoman Zari Hassan. He became a father for the third time with Tanzanian model Hamisa Mobeto.
As of 2019, Diamond Platnumz is dating Kenyan model and musician, Tanasha Donna, who gave birth to his son in October 2019. The two have since split and Tanasha Donna flew back to her home country of Kenya.
Diamond Platnumz is the cousin of Tanzanian DJ and celebrity, Romeo Abdul Jones, better known by his stage name Romy Jones. He also has two sisters, musician Queen Darleen and celebrity entrepreneur, Esma Platnumz.
In 2010, he endorsed Tanzania’s dominant ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), and its presidential candidate, Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete. He has also released other songs with pro-CCM lyrics, such as “CCM Tusonge Mbele” (“CCM Let’s Move Forward”).
