Early life
Jenkins was born Sanela Dijana Catic in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Yugoslavia to a middle-class family in 1973. Both of her parents were working, her father was an economist while her mother was an auditor.
She was forced to flee her country in 1992 due to war while studying in Sarajevo. She spent a year in Croatia as a refugee before moving to London. Her brother was reportedly killed by Serbian soldiers at the age of 21.
She was fortunate to continue her studies at City University, London after two years. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Economics and Computer Science with honors.

Career
Jenkins started working for Melissa Odabash and later bought the swimwear line. She is now the CEO of Neuro Line, a line of drinks she created. The company is based in California.
She then founded D Empire Entertainment, a record label representing emerging talent and established artists with a fresh perspective on artistic creation, concept, branding, recording, licensing and distribution.
Jenkins joined the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in season 12. She is now recognized as a businesswoman, philanthropist, mother, refugee and survivor of the war that took place in Bosnia, Sarajevo.
