Chris Martin and Coldplay are showing their love for film and TV legend Dick Van Dyke.
On December 6, the group shared a short film-style music video for their track. Moon Music The ballad All My Love focuses on the life and career of the Hollywood icon.
The clip was directed by Spike Jonze and Mary Wigmore and in the seven-minute video, Van Dyke limps around dancing in a suit and bare feet as he shows off his signature sense of humor. He also offers reflections on his life between clips of Martin playing the piano.
“I’m acutely aware that I could go any day now. But I don’t know why that doesn’t bother me. I’m not afraid of it. I have that feeling, the complete opposite of anything else.” Anything intellectual, that’s fine by me,” Van Dyke said.
The actor then went on to say that he considers himself “one of the lucky people who gets to do what I would have done for a living. Think how lucky I am. I get to do what I do for a living.” what I do – play and act silly.”
In the video, Van Dyke’s family, including his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all gathered together and exchanged hugs and cheers. The end of the music video sees Martin freestyle singing a song about aging. As he did this, Van Dyke looked on with amusement.
“Do you believe this man? He just wrote a song!” Van De said.
On December 13, Van Dyke will turn 99 years old. Over the course of his legendary career, he has won six Emmy Awards, a Grammy Award and a Tony Award. He has starred in classics such as The Dick Van Dyke Show, Bye Bye Birdie, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Dick Tracy And married Poppins.
In June, he became the oldest Daytime Emmy winner and gave a heartfelt speech.
“I don’t believe this. I feel like a spy for a nighttime TV show. I brought this lady here.” [his wife] up because she was, through trouble and strife, the love of my life, but because she was in the movie — she played the cop who arrested me,” he said.
“If I had known I would live this long, I would have taken better care of myself,” Van Dyke added. You guys are a real family and have taken me in and treated me so kindly.”
However, the actor’s outlook on life is not always so positive. He previously spoke about his mortality, saying his life would likely end before Donald Trump completed his second term as president.
In the video obtained from Daily mailhe shared his candid views on whether Trump can truly make the country great again.
“Fortunately, I won’t be here to experience those four years,” he said.
