Did Snoop Dogg Make $500,000 a Day at the Paris Olympics? Social Media Urges ‘Send That Idiot Home’

Rumors that Snoop Dogg could potentially earn half a million dollars a day at the 2024 Paris Olympics have sparked a lot of discussion on social media platforms.

Known as a key player at the 2024 Olympics, the rapper-turned-businessman continues to captivate audiences with his remarkable presence and often trending moments as NBC’s lead primetime correspondent.

Amid the enthusiasm surrounding Team USA, Snoop emerged as a standout, lending his unwavering support to the athletes. Viewers were captivated by his infectious enthusiasm as he lit up NBC’s segments, bringing a unique energy to the coverage of the events.

But rumors have recently surfaced online that the West Coast hip-hop legend is receiving a hefty paycheck for commentating on the Olympics, reportedly earning an impressive $500,000 a day for the two-week international event.

The rumor appears to have originated from a post on X, formerly Twitter, about a discussion that allegedly involved Snoop’s salary as NBC’s special correspondent covering the Olympics.

“Sitting next to an NBC executive at dinner,” user @henrymcnamara claimed on X. “He said Snoop was getting paid $500k a day plus expenses to be here promoting the Olympics. From Gin and Juice to a few million dollars to be a celebrity at the Olympics – what a world.”

While there’s no evidence to back up such claims, fans were quick to react, with some seemingly unhappy to learn that Snoop could be getting that kind of money.

They highlighted the huge disparity between the rapper’s alleged earnings and those of most athletes competing in the Olympics.

@FatKermit wrote on X: “I suspect viewership will increase significantly when he appears there.”

“How does he get paid more than athletes?” @meddywithbo asked, while @GeeBaby_1997 stated, “I heard Olympic athletes [are] earned $37,000.”

“There are people using vacation days or unpaid time off and Snoop gets more than the medalists,” said @Sen2chipi.

User @mintsniper tweeted, “That’s respectable, not sure what he brings is worth the money.”

Another user, @WildBillNC1978, wrote, “What a waste of money, send that idiot home.”

There may be a reason why Snoop Dogg is the center of attention at the Paris Olympics, however.

The “Drop It Like Its Hot” rapper proudly carried the Olympic torch during the opening ceremony, symbolizing the connection to the upcoming Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.

X user @FutureTrader01 suggested, “I believe the addition of Snoop Dogg has something to do with hosting in LA in 2028. Snoop could be the face of the 2028 Olympics in LA. He [is] from LA. So it makes sense to use him as a messenger until then.”
