Diddy Arrested in NYC After Grand Jury Indictment

Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested in New York City on Monday after being indicted by a grand jury.

The infamous hip-hop mogul was arrested at federal custody and taken to the FBI’s Manhattan office, TMZ and The New York Times reported.

As of this writing, the charges in the indictment have not been made public.

However, Combs faces multiple lawsuits accusing him of rape, sexual assault, sex trafficking, and other disturbing allegations.

His homes in Los Angeles and Miami were also raided by federal agents in March in connection with a sex trafficking investigation.

Combs has denied all allegations against him in the lawsuits.

However, he released an apology video in May after CNN released surveillance footage of him attacking one of his accusers, ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, at a hotel in 2016.

Combs’ attorney released a statement following the arrest, telling TMZ: “We are disappointed with the decision by the U.S. Attorney’s Office to pursue what we believe is an unfair prosecution of Mr. Combs.”

“Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a musical icon, a self-made businessman, a loving family man and a proven philanthropist who has spent the past 30 years building an empire, loving his children and working to uplift the black community,” added attorney Marc Agnifilo.

The rapper’s attorney continued to emphasize that while his client is not perfect, he is “not a criminal.”

“Mr. Combs has cooperated extensively with this investigation and voluntarily moved to New York last week to prepare for these charges,” Agnifilo said in his statement. “Please defer your judgment until the full facts are known. These are the actions of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to being vindicated in court.”
