Sean “Diddy” Combs claims federal prosecutors misrepresented him in a criminal case involving an argument with his ex-girlfriend, Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura – specifically by uses a heavily edited video to help justify his bail refusal – in a new case – Full legal papers.
According to TMZ, Diddy’s attorney claimed in papers filed ahead of his fourth bail hearing that prosecutors played a heavily edited video of the hotel incident from 2016.
The rapper argued that the footage was edited to make him appear more “dangerous” than the situation was a family dispute.
Diddy and his ex-girlfriend in a video that went viral earlier this year amid the ongoing lawsuit against Diddy. His lawyers allege that prosecutors had the raw footage but chose only the edited version as “the strongest evidence of danger and obstruction” against Diddy.
Diddy, arrested in September and facing felony sex trafficking and fraud charges, pleaded not guilty. If bail is refused again, he could be held in custody until his trial, set for May 2025.
However, according to Diddy’s lawsuit, prosecutors “misinterpreted and concealed important facts” about the November incident.
They say that in fact, the video itself does not support allegations of sex trafficking or forced sex against women but shows “a sad glimpse into a long-term consensual relationship.” decades”.
At one point in the clip, Diddy dragged Cassie down the hallway after she tried to leave. However, he challenged that characterization, saying he did not “pull” her, as she claimed he did.

To support Diddy’s fourth attempt at getting bail, Diddy’s team put together an entire package that included a $50 million bond backed by the equity in his and his mother’s homes in Florida. They also recommended a 24-hour monitoring program and restrictions on his internet and phone use during meetings with his lawyer.
Diddy was detained in a special housing unit at the Metropolitan Detention Center, New York. His lawyers have called the conditions of his detention “horrendous” and said they are inconsistent with the type of place where pretrial detainees should be.
Diddy is in a lot of legal trouble and he could be locked up for life if convicted. Before the judge made a decision on his bail application, Diddy remained behind bars.
