Elizabeth Dipuo Peters, born 13 May 1960 in Kimberley, Northern Cape, is a prominent South African politician.
She served as Minister of Transport of the Republic of South Africa.
She assumed this position on 10 July 2013 under the Jacob Zuma administration.
Prior to that, she served as the Executive Committee Secretary of Energy from 2009 to 2013.

Career
Early in her life, Dipuo Peters was associated with the Young Christian Students Association. There, she was able to develop and nurture her political activism.
She is involved in Youth activities in her church and community. At the University of North, she is Vice President of the Women’s Forum at AZASO. In Kimberley, she is a member of the Galeshewe Youth Congress, an affiliate of the United Democratic Front (UDF).
Dipuo Peters also worked as a regional volunteer organiser for the Domestic Workers’ Union of South Africa, recruiting, organising, educating and counselling domestic workers in the Northern Cape (1987). From 1987 to 1990, Dipuo Peters was Head of the Women’s Section at the South African Youth Congress.
In 1990, Dipuo Peters joined the African National Congress Youth League as secretary in charge of women’s affairs, after serving as the Chief Organiser of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the South African Youth Congress (SAYCO) from 1987 to 1990.
