Early Life & Education
Livingston Allen, aka DJ Akademiks, was born on May 17, 1991 in Spanish Town, Jamaica, but moved to New York City at the age of 10 in 2001. As a shy child, he had to Struggling to fit into a new school. and culture.

After enrolling at Rutgers University, he took it a step further by trying his hand at music production, but the endeavor failed due to lack of an adequate network.
He began DJing for his campus radio station on Saturday nights during this time, which helped him gain confidence. Due to his success, DJ Akademiks began receiving requests to DJ for local parties and barbecue events.
He regularly posts photos and videos of these events on his social media accounts. As a result, his online presence has helped him receive offers from all over the state of New Jersey. According to a blog post by Kifano Jordan, alias Shotti, a lawyer for 6ix9ine’s former manager, DJ Akademiks, was the informant. It also calls him a fake BFF who became an informant to avoid federal obstruction of justice charges, which could have resulted in a minimum five-year prison sentence.
Following the accusations, DJ Akademiks maintained his innocence in the case in an exclusive interview with TMZ, saying he was never questioned or much less cooperated in the matter and thought the defendants were kind people.
