Christos Katsaitis (born 1 July 1969), known professionally as DJ Christos, is a South African record producer and DJ.
He is the owner of the famous record label Katsaitis Music and one of the founders of the record label Kalawa Records.
He is a veteran in the South African music industry and has been active in the entertainment industry since 2001. He is also a music producer and has been dubbed the Godfather of South African music.

Early life
DJ Christos’ real name is Christos Katsaitis, born on July 1, 1969 in South Africa.
He started practicing with a turntable at the age of 13. His love for DJing stemmed from his father’s love of jazz.
He grew up in Johannesburg and his passion for music led him to work in a record store in Pretoria at the age of 11. He learned the art of DJing in part and was exposed to many genres of music other than jazz.
He started keeping his own record collection and started DJing in high school. As a child, he witnessed the Apartheid regime in South Africa and did not understand why black people were treated so badly. He refused to be influenced by that regime and when he started showing off his talent, he attracted black people.

DJ Christos completed his primary and secondary education in Pretoria, South Africa.
Career
DJ Christos started out working at a recording studio in Pretoria at the age of 11. He eventually landed a job at one of Pretoria’s biggest nightclubs, The Jacqueline Night Club, as a resident DJ. His biggest challenge was keeping people dancing for eight hours straight and having to learn different styles and create different mixes to ensure the club environment didn’t get boring.
After a successful stint at Jacqueline’s, he continued to play at Cubs venues like Fourth World and Caesars Palace. He was scheduled to play Thursday and Friday nights at Caesars Palace and drew larger crowds than usual.
He founded Katsaikis Music. He co-founded Kalawa Music. His company is responsible for record breaking songs. He has collaborated with some of South Africa’s top musicians.
Personal life
DJ Christos is currently happily married to Tobego and the couple have three children together, Taki, Michael and CJ.
They lived in Johannesburg and together with his wife, he ran a family restaurant business called Shaguma Café. In 2009, he was robbed of all his possessions; unfortunately, his laptop and phone, most of his unreleased music and compositions were stored on the laptop and were never recovered.
Thieves broke into his hotel room while he was hosting Channel O’s New Year’s Eve show at the Esibayeni Lodge in Swaziland.
