Early life
DJ Kentalky was born as Ismail Lawal on April 27, 1987 in Ikeja, the capital of Lagos.
He is Yoruba and hails from Ogun State, Southwestern Nigeria.

He is the first born and eldest of three children.
DJ Kentalky began building his music career at his local church, where he served as the lead instrumentalist.

DJ Kentalky completed his primary and secondary education at a local school in Ikeji, Lagos State, Nigeria.
He went on to pursue his undergraduate studies at the prestigious Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in Ogun, Southwestern Nigeria.
As a result, he was able to successfully graduate with a degree in Mass Communications.
Career
DJ Kentalky’s impressive career began in 2001 when he joined the MTV Guinness Extra Smooth Train tour to the capital Abuja and Benin in Edo State, Nigeria.
He was so good that he got a rare opportunity to be ranked alongside many other international DJs. He then signed a contract with a record label called “Lion Music” in 2016. This album is a 360-degree entertainment genre.
He was also invited to perform at a house party of the popular Nigerian reality TV show, Big Brother Naija in 2017.

DJ Kentalky has collaborated with some of Nigeria’s top artists and his most successful collaboration was with YBNL star, Lil Kesh on a song titled “Blessings”. The song was nominated for the 2016 Nigerian Entertainment Awards (NEAs) for the DJ Combo Award.
DJ Kentalky is also the main DJ on Lagos’ popular radio station Naija FM 102.7. He also hosts a popular music show called “Kentalky Gbedu” every Friday night from 10pm to 6pm.
