Early life
Phind’Gcobe Madubela, also known as DJ PH, was born on 6 September 1987. He was born in the Eastern Cape in South Africa.

For him, growing up was a difficult process as he had to struggle a lot to overcome that stage of his life. DJ PH was born into a family of four children and he was the youngest in the family.
He grew up in his hometown of Eastern Cape and had to do some manual labor to support himself as his parents were unable to provide for some of his basic needs.
Education
DJ PH completed his secondary education at an all-boys school and was very active in sports. He was proficient in rugby, tennis and swimming.
He was also appointed as the class representative in sports. Apart from sports activities, DJ PH was also very good at break dancing when he was in high school.
He studied marketing at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.

When he was in high school, DJ PH was a boy who loved sports; in fact, if you knew him since he was little, you would think he would become an athlete.
But the opposite is true; today, he’s making waves in the South African music industry. After graduating with a marketing certificate from university, he landed a job at Anything Goes in Cape Town.
He then took a job as a DJ, where he started showing off his skills in clubs and lounges. He mastered the DJ thing, and with a little effort combined with his marketing skills, he was able to sell some of the solo music he had made. He also had the opportunity to work for a big label like Jamieson Soul Session.
At the age of 24, DJ PH moved to Johannesburg and lived with his sister. After a few months living with his sister in Johannesburg, he became an intern at 5FM, a national radio station. He then auditioned for a DJ search competition, where he finished as runner-up.
Then in 2016, DJ PH was appointed as the official DJ at 5FM.
