early life
Doja Cat comes from an artistic family. Her father is a multi-talented artist. He has worked as an actor, music composer and film producer; while her mother is a painter. She was born on October 21, 1995.
She is originally from Los Angeles, California, where she spent her early life. Her parents are Mr. Dumisani Dlamini and Ms. Deborah Elizabeth Sawyer. She is of South African, Jewish and American descent.
When Doja Cat was a few months old, her mother moved to New York City, where she spent the next five years. Deborah introduced her daughter to the art world by enrolling her in ballet and jazz dance classes when she was five years old. When she grew up, her aunt helped her get enrolled in a performing arts school. The school was designed to train her to become a singer.
