Donald Glover is canceling the remainder of his scheduled Childish Gambino tour due to health issues. He shared the news on Friday with a post on X, noting that he was hospitalized after a performance in New Orleans due to “an illness” and now needs time to heal. He did not reveal his health problem but said he would need surgery.
“After my performance in New Orleans, I went to the hospital in Houston to check if the illness had become apparent,” he wrote. “After being assessed it became clear that I would not be performing that night and after more tests I was unable to do the remainder of my US tour within the required time. I am now scheduled surgery and need time to recover.”
“My road to recovery is something I need to face seriously,” he continued. “With that being said, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of our North American tour as well as UK and European dates. Tickets will be refunded upon purchase. There is nothing I would like more than to bring this show to the fans and perform.” . Until then, thank you for your love, privacy, and support.”

Glover is still scheduled to hold concerts in January and February 2025 in New Zealand and Australia, but it is unclear whether those shows will be affected.
Glover has previously said that this tour is the last he will do as Childish Gambino, and his sixth album, Bando Stone & New Worldwould also be his last album under this moniker.
“It really was like, ‘Oh, it’s done,'” he said New York Times. “It’s not satisfying at all. And I just feel like I don’t need to build this way anymore.”
“I’m not 25 years old anymore, standing in front of a rock thinking ‘This has to move,’” he continued. “You give what you can, but beauty is everywhere in every moment. You don’t have to build it, you don’t have to search for it. When I put my son on my shoulders, I feel deep joy . It’s the truth.” . No one on their deathbed is going to look back and say, ‘Thank God I avoided cringing.'”
