Dr. Daniel Olukoya is also revered as a spiritual father to thousands of people around the world. After graduating from the University of Lagos with a first class degree in Microbiology, he moved to the University of Reading, UK; where he obtained a degree in Molecular Genetics.
He is currently the Director General of MFM with several publications on daily devotions and pastoral materials to his name. Early life
On 15 July 1957, Daniel Kolawole Olukoya was born to Mr. and Mrs. Olukoya in Akure, Ondo State.
His father was a civil servant and worked in the Police Force while his mother worked as a local trader at the time.
He received his religious education from his father, a pastor of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC). He grew up with very high religious standards, encountering Christ while in high school.

Dr. Daniel Olukoya is also a fervent follower of the late Apostle Joseph Ayodele Babalola, the founder of the CAC church, and often writes about him in his publications.
Thanks to the discipline that Dr. Daniel Olukoya received at home, he grew up with a dedication to learning, writing and research. These qualities eventually became the foundation for his many achievements.
Education
Dr. Daniel Olukoya was recognized for his flawless performance at St. John’s Primary School CAC, Akure. He finished as the top student in the school before enrolling at St. Jude’s Primary School, Ebute metta, Lagos; after his family relocated to Lagos State.
After completing his basic education, he attended Methodist Boys’ High School (MBHS), located at Broad Street, Lagos. There, he learned a lot from a foreign teacher who inspired him. He also graduated as the top student in his class with a highly commendable Senior Secondary School Certificate.
In 1978, Dr. Daniel Olukoya was admitted to the University of Lagos and majored in Microbiology for four courses. He also graduated with first class honours and was the best result recorded for the course at that time, at the University of Lagos.
His excellent academic performance earned him a scholarship to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular Genetics at the University of Reading, UK.
Dr. Daniel Olukoya obtained his PhD after three years of study and returned to Nigeria.
Career
Dr. Daniel Olukoya became a geneticist and joined the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR), Yaba, Lagos State. Currently, he has over seventy publications in the medical field. In a short period of time, he has served as an external examiner in several institutions, specializing in Genetics.
He established himself as a major force in the field of genetics and biotechnology by founding the Daniel & Fola Biotechnology Foundation, a non-governmental organization established with the aim of empowering Nigerians with modern and advanced laboratory skills in the field of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.
In 1989, Dr. Daniel Olukoya founded the Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) Ministries. He started his ministry from his apartment but later moved to Yaba where he built the headquarters of his ministry.
Eventually, MFM expanded into several branches and Prayer City was built along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, with a capacity of 100,000 people. The ministry also owns an Academy; Mountain Top University, which was established in 2015.
Dr. Daniel Olukoya is also a renowned writer, having authored a number of prayer books and pastoral materials.
Personal life
Dr. Daniel Olukoya is married to Shade Olukoya and is also the father of Elijah Toluwani Olukoya.
As a man of God, he devotes his time daily to the ministries of Mountain of Fire and Miracles; regularly serving on multiple platforms.
