Drake responds after Kendrick Lamar takes a shot on ‘GNX’: ‘Fairy tales won’t do it’

Drake won’t criticize his take on Kendrick Lamar’s new album, GNXlie down.

The Toronto rapper appeared on a Kick livestream with Canadian streamer xQc on November 24, where he took a photo of Lamar.

This defiant comment was an apparent reference to claims in Lamar’s various diss posts about Drake behaving inappropriately with young girls, keeping company with sexual predators and doing father of a secret daughter.

Although Lamar didn’t directly mention Drake on his new album, he did allude to their ongoing feud.

โ€œN—gas from my city can’t entertain the old man / Promising bank deals and even bitcoin / I never appeased it, it didn’t satisfy me / Before when I call a truce, I’ll take them to hell with me,โ€ Lamar raps on โ€œWacced Out Murals.โ€

“He also mentioned Drizzy’s controversial song “Taylor Made Freestyle.” “Snoop posted ‘Taylor Made,’ I pray it’s edible / I can’t believe it, the fact that I let it go is respectable.”

While Drake didn’t appear to mention Lamar further, he continued to have subtle criticisms of the rapper. He announced that his Australian tour would take place on February 9, the same day as Lamar’s Super Bowl performance.

Despite his apparent dig, Lamar seemed unfazed, and in text messages that surfaced on the internet, he dismissed Drake’s words.

“๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ // He tripped??!” Lamar replied talking about the situation.

Elsewhere, Drake also cleverly shadowed The Weeknd, who he has previously collaborated with, on stream. xQc plays The Weeknd’s hit “Starboy” and gets a reaction from Drake. He laughed at the song and said it wasn’t what “real 6ixers” listen to.

“But you have to move this song. You have to move this song. Real 6ixers, real 6ixers. Real 6ixers side, we don’t listen to that song,” he said on stream. xQc then segues into โ€œFuck,โ€ from Blink-182.

“Exactly. Play some Blink-182. I really want to hear that,” Drake said.

In the past, Drake and The Weeknd have written a few songs together, but their working relationship appears to have changed. Combination reports that the “Out of Time” singer attended a Lamar’s Pop Out event in the Los Angeles area over the summer. The Weeknd appears to have continued to cover Drake and has apparently signed off on the song “All to Myself.”

“They could never dissect my brothers, baby. / When they leak in action / I thank God that I never gave up on my life,” he sings in the song .

Drake has been largely silent over the past few months since Lamar’s “Not Like Us” dominated the Hot 100 chart.
