Dutch police ‘annoyed’ by Nicki Minaj’s reaction to arrest, claim to have found ‘dozens of bones’ in luggage

According to Dutch police, Nicki Minaj was arrested in the Netherlands last Saturday after landing at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport and discovering “dozens of bones” in her luggage.

Minaj claimed that the marijuana did not belong to her but belonged to her security guard.

“Can’t come [the concert in] Manchester, I don’t know the last time I felt this depressed, you know?” Minaj said about the incident. After her arrest, she took to Stationhead, a live streaming platform, to explain about yourself and present details of your case with foreign law.

“I’m not going to go in and tell you the fun they had in it, even if I was there,” she said.

She described the scene and said “There was a woman there – all the rest were men – and I could tell she had a heart.”

She also pointed to her identity as a Black woman, insinuating that the perceived mistreatment stemmed from her race.

“Not only that but knowing that something is being intentionally done to you because you are a confident different race,” she said.

Minaj went on to call the treatment she experienced “disgusting” and said she “wouldn’t wish that on anyone. And yes, I’ve been to prison before.”

She added: “It has nothing to do with whether you have been to prison before or not.

Responding to Minaj’s accusations of racism, a Dutch police spokesman said that it was “upsetting that she pulled that card” and that “everything went very smoothly”.

The spokesman said: “We arrested her when we found dozens of bones in her luggage. She was released four hours after her arrest in consultation with the prosecutor and after fines”.

Police said they were just doing their job and “it’s protocol to search luggage and arrest a person when we find drugs.”

They added: “It is illegal to bring drugs to another country.”

“We stand for a professional organization that treats everyone equally, no matter what,” the spokesperson added. “It would be upsetting if she experienced it that way.”

Minaj was arrested early Saturday evening and released later that night. She was fined 350 euros for carrying “30 to 100 grams of cannabis” in her luggage.

Because of her arrest, Minaj was unable to perform in Manchester on Saturday. She moved the show to June 3. Her performance in the city on May 30 continued as normal. Minaj has since continued her journey across the UK, stopping in Birmingham, London and Glasgow.

Although she was scheduled to perform a show in Amsterdam on June 2, Minaj will not return to performing in the country, according to promoter MOJO.

Minaj’s case is now closed.
