Dwight David Howard II was born on December 8, 1985 in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. He was born and raised by his parents, Sheryl Howard and Dwight Howard Sr.
His father is a Georgia State Trooper and the athletic director at Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy, a private school with one of the country’s top high school basketball programs. His mother played on the first women’s basketball team at Morris Brown College.
Dwight grew up with his siblings, Jahaziel Howard and TaShanda Howard. He excelled on the basketball team at Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy and chose to forgo college, entering the NBA immediately after high school.
