Early life and education

Ebuka Obi-Uchendu was born on July 14, 1982 to a banker father, Chief Ezeagada of Okija, and his mother, who works as a nurse at a public hospital in Benin City, Edo State. He is the third of four children. He has an elder sister, an older brother, and a younger brother. His elder sister’s name is Iphie Obi-Uchendu.

He completed his kindergarten and primary school education in Benin City in central Nigeria and notably passed the secondary school matriculation examination in the fourth grade. He and his family then moved to Abuja, the country’s capital.

Ebuka Obi-Uchendu completed his secondary education at Christ The King’s College in Abuja before enrolling at the University of Abuja in 1997 and graduating in 2004. In 2005, he received his degree from the Nigerian Law School in Bwari, Abuja.

After completing his studies at the Nigerian Law School, Bwari in Abuja in 2005, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu returned to school. In December 2010, he received his Master of Laws from the Washington School of Law at the American University in Washington, DC, majoring in intellectual property and media law from the Law and Government program.

Ebuka Obi-Uchendu proposed to human resources manager Cynthia Obi-Uchendu, also known as Cynthia Obianodo, in Lagos on 15 April 2015. On 6 February 2016, they married in Abuja.

They had a daughter named Jewel Obi-Uchendu on November 8, 2016. In 2018, they announced via Instagram that they were expecting another child. Their second child, also a girl, was named Rubi Obi-Uchendu.

Career

Ebuka Obi-Uchendu participated in the first season of the popular reality television series Big Brother Naija in 2006 as one of the 14 housemates. He was the eighth housemate to be evicted from the show. He is currently the most successful and popular housemate of BBNaija to date. In January 2017, he was chosen as the host for both the third and second seasons of Big Brother Naija.
