She is the daughter of comedian, actor, writer, singer, producer Eddie Murphy, and former fashion model, television personality, and designer Nicole Mitchell Murphy. Bria Murphy was born Bria Liana Murphy on November 18, 1989, in Sacramento, California, United States.
Her four siblings are Miles Mitchell Murphy, Bella Murphy, Zola Ivy Murphy, Shayne Audra Murphy and Bella Murphy. Eddie Murphy has two half-brothers, Eric Murphy and Christian Murphy, with his ex-girlfriends Paulette McNeely and Tamara Hood.
In 2006, Bria Murphy’s parents separated due to irreconcilable differences. The divorce was officially finalized on April 17, 2006, after filing in August 2005. Since then, Eddie Murphy has had other partnerships and had more children.
