The only “partner” she ever mentioned in interviews and socials at the time was her training partner/girlfriend Susie Rodgers. The two were often spotted swimming together, training for the Paralympics.

Probably not. According to Ellie Simmonds, she never let her condition hold her back. She commented that she has never been bullied in her life because of it, and she would never let anyone bring her down.
“I’m just small. I can do everything everyone else can do,” she explained.
Ellie has a condition called achondroplasia that limits her height; especially the growth of her arms and legs. But Ellie sees her condition as a blessing in disguise.
She believes that if she weren’t small, she wouldn’t have made it to the Paralympics and never become the person she is today. Her philosophy is that there’s no reason to be sad or hate yourself. “I just take each day as it comes and try to live it the best I can,” she added.
This is also the main reason why Ellie is skeptical about Vosoritide.
A world without dwarfism is not exactly ideal for her. The road to acceptance and inclusion for people with disabilities has been difficult, and she believes these gains are at risk of being lost.
Thinking back on all the challenges she has faced, Ellie admits that she would still keep her life “exactly the same” even if she had the choice to change.
