Chappell Roan prepares to perform at the 33rd Sir Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards.
On January 8, the invitation was announced through the official Instagram accounts of John, his husband David Furnish, Chappell Roan and the Elton John Aids Foundation (EJAF).
The post’s first slide included a photo of John and Roan, indicating the invitation was for the “Pink Pony Club” singer. The caption said: “We’re excited to announce that @chappellroan will light up the stage with a sensational performance at the #EJAFOscars on March 2.”
Furthermore, the post also expressed enthusiasm for hosts John, Furnish, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Jean Smart, Neil Patrick Harris and his husband David Burtka.
“What a long line! We can’t wait to share the stage with these amazing names,” the caption added. “Thank you for supporting our vision of a world free of AIDS and an end to LGBTQ+ discrimination.”
Meanwhile, Roan emerged as the winner of the Top New Artist category at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards on December 12. “HOT TO GO!” The singer thanked Billboard for the award as well as the platform’s efforts in bringing more of her songs to the charts.
Roan went on to express that it was “amazing” to finally receive recognition for her efforts and that her hard work had finally paid off.
