early life and education
Era Istrefi was born on July 4, 1994 in Pristina, Yugoslavia, to her father Nezir Istrefi, a journalist, and her mother, Suzana Tahirsylaj, a musician active in the 1980s and 1990s. Her father, Nezir Istrefi, died in 2004, and her mother put her music career on hold after his death.
