Destiny/Strange Fakes Season 1 Episode 1 Review
After the end of the Fifth Holy Grail War, the Magician Association discovered a renegade magician faction headed by the rogue magician Fadius, who planned to plan a fake Holy Grail War in the American city of Snowfield. After careful consideration, Lord Ermelo II considered an appropriate course of action. Meanwhile, one of his students, Frater Escardos, driven by curiosity, disobeyed his instructions and ventured to Snowfield with the intention of participating in the war and seeing the Holy Grail with his own eyes.
After arriving in the snowfield, Flat Escardos successfully summoned Jack the Ripper, a servant of the Berserker profession. Additionally, Gilgamesh is summoned and allied with Tine Cherk, a young Native American girl who becomes Gilgamesh’s master and seeks to reclaim the tribe’s ancestral lands from the wizard.
The mage who originally summoned Tiny was assassinated by an unseen assailant, but was later resurrected and took a new interest in undermining her deep-rooted spiritual beliefs. At the same time, the comatose girl Tsubaki successfully established contact with the ghostly Servant. The Snowfield Police Chief, with Custer’s assistance, replicates the Noble Phantasm for his elite unit, the Kaladin Clan. In addition, the magician’s pet dog can also summon the servant Enkidu.
Gilgamesh and Enkidu have an instinctive awareness of each other’s existence, leading to conflict as they seek to resolve their long-standing rivalry. However, upon realizing that other Servants were observing their conflict, they collectively decided to eliminate the remaining competitors before resuming the fight. The extraordinary power displayed by Gilgamesh and Enkidu amazed the participants in the simulated Holy Grail War.
During these events, another mage begins a quest to end the fraudulent Holy Grail War, which poses a catastrophic threat to the world. This person pinned his hopes on the mysterious “intruder”. Near a snowfield, a weapon-wielding servant confronts a young girl, asking her if she will serve as his master. Her reaction was negative because she was unwilling to fulfill the role assigned to her.
