Fati Abubakar was born into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Abubakar in 1987.

Fati Abubakar’s work has appeared on the BBC, New York Times, CNN, Reuters, Voice Of America and Newsweek Europe, This Day, Africa Is A Country and Blueprint. Her work has also been shown at the Oxford Human Rights Conference.

As a photojournalist, she visited Deribe Palace in Maiduguri. She also made a Documentary about Operation Call A in Ghana and filmed a video for the Duke Amandla Choir.

She also spoke at Callascope, an event of the Duke Global Women’s Health Technology Center. She is one of the speakers at the 2019 edition of the Switch Point Conference.
