Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Patch to Improve Performance Mode, Wiki, Gameplay, and More

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth patch will improve performance mode

The critically acclaimed Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is about to receive a new patch designed to enhance performance mode and address player concerns about visual quality. Despite its initial release to widespread acclaim, some players have expressed dissatisfaction with the graphical fidelity of performance mode. Director Naoki Hamaguchi acknowledged these issues and confirmed that the development team is actively working on a patch to address them.

In an interview with Philippine gaming site One More Game, Hamaguchi assured fans that they have listened to feedback and that improvements to the performance mode are on the way. He expressed confidence that a patch will be released soon, suggesting that players won’t have to wait long to get the update.

While the exact contents of the patch have yet to be revealed, Hamaguchi hinted that it will also address facial lighting, which players reported caused character shadows to look unsettling, prompting the development team to prioritize this aspect of the game’s visual presentation.

Although the image quality of performance mode is lower than that of graphics mode, which has a lower frame rate but clearer images, Hamaguchi revealed that he personally prefers graphics mode. He explained that he likes to play games with better graphics, suggesting that graphics mode provides him with a more immersive experience.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, launched exclusively for PS5, has been receiving critical acclaim since its recent global release. With the upcoming patch focused on improving performance modes and addressing facial lighting issues, players can look forward to a more refined gaming experience in this highly anticipated game. Stay tuned for further updates as the development team works hard to improve the game based on player feedback and technical evaluation.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a new game from Square Enix set to be released in 2024. It is the sequel to 2020’s Final Fantasy VII Remake and the second part of a planned trilogy that reimagines the classic 1997 PlayStation game Final Fantasy VII.

Similar to its predecessor, Rebirth blends real-time action with strategy and role-playing elements. The game follows the story of Rebirth, where players take on the role of mercenary Claude Strife and his team, mainly the eco-terrorist organization AVALANCHE. Their mission is to travel across the planet and stop the super-corporation Shinra from using its life force Lifestream for energy, while also fighting against the powerful former warrior Sephiroth.

Development on Rebirth began long before the remake was announced, and was officially announced in June 2022. The main creative team from the previous game returned, with Tetsuya Nomura serving as creative director and Naoki Hamaguchi taking over as director.

The game was released exclusively for PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024, and received widespread critical acclaim

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth gameplay

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the second in a planned trilogy of games that re-imagines the 1997 classic Final Fantasy VII, which was originally released on the PlayStation. It continues the storyline after the events of Final Fantasy VII Remake (2020), following the protagonist’s escape from the sprawling metropolis of Midgar.

The protagonist, Claude Strife, is the game’s main character, a former Shinra soldier turned member of the eco-terrorist group Avalanche. He sets out on a mission to fight the Shinra Corporation, which is draining the planet of its life force. Along the way, he becomes embroiled in a conflict with the mysterious soldier Sephiroth, whose return unleashes chaos and mystery. Similar to its predecessor, Rebirth presents elements of the original game in a fresh light, delving into the complexity of character development and narrative.

Rebirth’s gameplay revolves around real-time exploration and combat, with a much larger surface world than the linear structure of Midgar in Remake. Players are guided by objective markers displayed on the heads-up display, leading them through the main story missions and optional side quests scattered throughout the surface world.

Additionally, players can utilize Chocobos equipped with specialized Chocobo Lure Materia for faster travel. Reborn builds upon the action-centric melee and Active Time Battle (ATB) system from the remastered version, allowing players to freely switch between party members during combat.

Characters use a combination of physical attacks, magic, and items strategically selected from a menu to temporarily pause the action. The “synergy” mechanic introduced in the Episode INTERmission DLC for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade (2021) returns, allowing party members to attack in coordination, albeit at the cost of a slower ATB bar refill.
