On October 22, hundreds of people attended a rally in Detroit for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, including Grammy-winning rapper Eminem.

The “I’m Not Afraid” rapper explained that Detroit and Michigan mean a lot to him and how important one’s voice is during such an important time. “The attention is on us more than ever and I think it’s important to use your voice, so I encourage everyone to get out and vote.”

Eminem added, “I also think people shouldn’t be afraid to express their opinions. I don’t think anyone wants an America where people worry about being punished about what people will do if you give your opinion.”
Eminem has always been vocal about his political stance as his sentiments against Donald Trump are evident through his music, interviews, and performances.
The rapper also said that Harris will “support a future” for the country that will also bring protections to many people and their freedoms. Eminem then went on to introduce Obama, who enthusiastically greeted the audience.

After experiencing loud cheers at the venue, Obama commented that he usually doesn’t feel nervous no matter how many protests he has attended. However, he joked: “But I feel like I’m watching Eminem.”
After that, Obama rapped the opening verse of Eminem’s classic song “Lose Yourself”, causing many people to cheer loudly.
