Frank Warren began his career as a solicitor in London before becoming involved in boxing promotion through his second cousin, a boxer. Lenny McLeanWarren promoted his first licensed show in 1980 and quickly became a leading figure in British boxing, managing many of the country’s top fighters over the past 25 years.
Some of the major boxers that Warren has managed include ‘Prince’ Naseem Hamed, Nigel Benn, Joe Calzaghe, Ricky Hatton, Amir Khanand others. He has overseen several world championship title wins by his fighters.
In 1989, Warren was the victim of a shooting outside a movie theater, seriously injured, although the perpetrator was never caught. He continues to be a prominent boxing promoter, being inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2008.
More recently, in 2016, an event Warren co-hosted at the Regency Hotel in Dublin was the scene of a shocking shooting. In 2024, Warren led Team Queensberry in a unique 5-on-5 boxing match against the rival organization. Eddie Hearn.
