The identity of Geeta Kapoor’s father is still unknown. Rani Kapoor is the name of Geeta Kapoor’s mother. In 2021, Geeta Kapoor’s mother passed away. She and her mother had a close bond. On January 12, 2021, Rani Kapoor passed away and Geeta Kapoor posted on social media.

When she joined famous Bollywood choreographer Farah Khan’s team at the age of 15 to develop her career.
She then worked as an assistant to Farah Khan in several films, including the 2004 musical Bombay Dreams and the films Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Mohabbatein, Kal Ho Na Ho, Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om. She has choreographed several Bollywood films, including Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya (2011), Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi (2012), Heyy Babyy (2007), Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic (2008), Asoka (2001), Saathiya (2002), and Tees Maar Khan’s Sheila Ki Jawani (2010).
She began her career as a backing dancer in various song sequences, combining classical and modern dance styles in songs such as “Dum Tara” from Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, “Tujhe Yaad Na Meri Aaye” from the film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and “Gori Gori” from Main Hoon Na.
Kapoor made her television debut in 2008 with the reality television series Dance India Dance (season 1), alongside co-judges choreographer Terrence Lewis and Remo D’Souza. Mithun Chakrabarty was the grand master. She mentored the group Geeta Ki Gang.
They trained 18 candidates in ballet, acrobatics, aerial dance, contemporary, Bollywood and hip-hop.
