David Graziano joined Law & Order: Special Victims Unit starting in the twenty-fourth season shortly after Warren Leight stepped down as executive producer at the end of the current twenty-third season. Unfortunately, within a year of joining the cast, allegations against him for “mistreatment of subordinates, erratic and short-tempered behavior, and making inappropriate and demeaning comments about women and people of color” surfaced from people who had worked with him over the years.

The reason for this series of accusations, according to reports, was the resignation of the show’s script coordinator, Haley Cameron.

According to Haley, the producer “is a very unprofessional, selfish, and immature man.” She added that she has been in the industry for a long time, but she has never witnessed such “pure misogyny against white men.”

Similarly, Amy Hartman, who worked as a script coordinator under David at Coyote, said, “Graz is extremely toxic and I have never quit a job so quickly in my life as I did when I was SC for him. Stay away from him.”

However, David has categorically denied all allegations. “The implication that Mr. Graziano created a hostile, sexist, inappropriate and unprofessional work environment is false,” said David’s spokesperson Alafair Hall. He also claimed that Haley had only “briefly worked” on the show and was “on the verge of being fired” for making unapproved script changes.

Furthermore, the representative denied any additional allegations, stating, “Any statements regarding Mr. Graziano’s race, ethnicity or gender were made in the context of the creation of the plot, characters and dialogue.”

David himself later spoke out, saying he refused to blame his past behavior on the abuse he suffered and learned as a child from a Catholic priest and from his own mother as an excuse for misogyny.
