Meet Tyson “TenZ” Ngo Bo, Thanh Ngo
Tyson “TenZ” Ngo is Thanh Ngo’s son. Thanh’s most recent IG post was of a Father’s Day lunch with Tyson. Although it’s rare, Thanh’s most frequent posts are about food.
On his Facebook page, Thanh revealed that he attended Nanaimo High School. There is not much information about his work at the moment. But based on recent Facebook posts, he has also started to venture into the streaming industry.
Regarding his family, Thanh has three brothers; Billy, Thi and Bobby Ngo.
Bobby currently works at Casino Nanaimo as a Table Games Supervisor, Poker Supervisor and Cage Supervisor. He is a graduate of the Vancouver Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Billy has been a software development engineer at Amazon.com since February 2020. He previously worked at Google. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia in 2014 and a Bachelor of Business Administration (General Management) from Vancouver Island University.
As for Thi, he is currently working at Great Canadian Casino. He previously worked at Ngo & Nguyen Contracting.
The four brothers were born to their father Hung Ngo. Hung Ngo is a native of Nanaimo, British Columbia, and considers the place his home.
Meet Tyson “TenZ” Ngo Mom, Valerie Turcotte
Tyson “TenZ” Ngo’s mother is Valerie Turcotte.
Valerie chatted with Nerd Street and shared some insights into raising Tyson and how she supports his passions.
“I really supported his passion for gaming,” Valerie opened up shortly after TenZ and the Sentinels qualified for Masters: Iceland. “When he started getting older, as a teenager, he didn’t party or drink, he just played games, so that was cool… I was 16 when I got pregnant with Tyson, so I was like, ‘oh my gosh, thank God for my nerd kid, karma isn’t a bitch.’”
Raising Tyson wasn’t easy for Valerie. “I was a young mom, I was a single mom, so I raised Tyson on my own — I had a lot of support from my family. I have a great family — I have three brothers, Tyson’s three brothers on his father’s side, my grandparents, my parents, a lot of support from my family,” she explains, “I was able to work part-time and have my brother babysit Tyson and still be a really active, full-time mom.”
“When you’re a mother, all by yourself, you give your child everything they want,” she added. “But he never takes it for granted, he’s not a spoiled brat. If he was a spoiled brat, I would stop doing that, but he’s always been humble, kind, and sweet, so I don’t mind giving him everything.”
Valerie is proud of how far TenZ has come. She is also proud that her son is now dating and engaged to his girlfriend Kyedae. She explains, “I don’t have any gaming advice for him anymore, but if he needs me, I’ll always be there. He’s doing his thing. He has a girlfriend in the gaming industry and that support, so they can work through it together and be a power couple.”
“She protected him so Mom could sit back and watch,” Valerie said. Nerd Street“I would walk back and forth, watch them stream, and just laugh at how different their streams were. I loved their streams when they were side by side. My evenings were free, so I just sat there and watched the stream. I loved it.”
As of 2022, Valerie is currently dating Chris Hide. They have been together since at least 2020.
As for Valerie and Thanh’s relationship, they are still friends. In fact, if you look at Thanh’s Facebook posts, you can see Valerie playfully mocking her ex. So they are still on good terms.
