Meet the Zion Clark Family Members
America’s Got Talent contestant Zion Clark is an MMA fighter and mixed martial artist with no legs. He wowed audiences with his performances on the show and entertained them with his stories.
Caudal regression syndrome, an extremely rare condition in which part of the spinal cord fails to develop, affects Zion. Cases vary, but Zion’s condition left him completely without legs.
Zion was born on September 29, 1997 in Columbus, Ohio. He had to navigate the foster care system when his mother put him up for adoption because he was born without legs. Zion overcame these obstacles with perseverance and persistence, becoming a success story.
Zion was emotionally and physically abused in his early years, and at the age of 10, he attempted suicide. Zion’s early years were marked by despair, but he eventually found wrestling and was able to use it as a means to express his aggressive feelings. In addition to being a professional wrestler and fighter, Zion is now a professional public speaker and is working towards further success through America’s Got Talent.
He has also appeared in many other media outlets, including Forbes, Men’s Health, Wall Street Journal, CNN, NBC, ABC, Fox, ESPN, The Ellen Show, and an Apple commercial that aired during the 2020 Super Bowl.
Zion decided to enroll at Kent State after being approached by multiple organizations to wrestle. There, he spent the next two years slowly honing his skills and succeeding at the collegiate level. He decided to take on his most difficult task to date: becoming the first American wrestler to compete in both the Olympic (wrestling) and Paralympic (wheelchair) Games in Tokyo (2020), as his confidence and national ranking continued to grow.
Zion surrounded himself with a dedicated and incredibly supportive team, including Olympic/World Champion Jordan Burroughs and undefeated four-time NCAA champion (133-0) Joey Davis, after realizing the gravity of this enormous endeavor. He began pursuing interests in wheelchair bodybuilding, powerlifting (lifting weights), and circus arts due to his exceptional upper-body strength and athletic ability.
Who is Zion Clark’s father?
Zion Clark’s biography shows that his biological father never came into the picture. However, he had coach Gilbert Donahue who acted as a father figure and most importantly, a support system.
Who is Zion Clark’s mother?
Zion Clark was very close to his adoptive mother, Kimberlli Clark Hawkins. His biological mother, she was said to be unable to care for him because she abused drugs. His upbringing was harsh as he was beaten and starved. And his mother did not want him in her life. He bounced from foster home to foster home that he said took advantage of him.
When Zion was 17, Kimberlli chose to become his mother, who had fostered other children. Kimberlli recalls the first time she met the boy she would later adopt. He spent some time bouncing between foster families, but it didn’t take long for the two to bond and find Zion a permanent home. Kimberlli also quickly learned how unique her new son was.
“I think he really embodies the saying, ‘When life gives you lemons, make lemonade,'” Kimberlli said. Online. “He’s no different than any other kid, any other teenager. He doesn’t let that get him down.”
Kimberlli first met Zion at Washington High School. Her youngest daughter, Indy, was in the same class as Zion in choir. So Kimberlli and Zion first met in January 2015. Just over a year later, in February, the adoption was official.
“Two or three weeks later he came to my house and I asked him, I said, ‘Can I be your mom?’ He was like, ‘Okay,’” Kimberlli recalled. “The social worker was like, ‘You don’t even have to work hard this time, Zion.’ … Honestly, everyone needs someone.”
“She did a lot,” Zion said of his mother, Kimberlli. “She’s still doing a lot. It’s not over. She’s been there for me. All. The. Time. We have our disagreements — what family doesn’t — and we just work through them.”
Kimberlli is Zion’s biggest supporter. On Mother’s Day 2022, he wished her, “Happy Mother’s Day to my biggest supporter Love you ❤️❤️ as well as S/o to all the moms out there!!” Unfortunately, Kimberlli was unable to attend Zion’s AGT audition.
More about Kimberlli, she is 53 years old. She was born in 1970. On Kimberly’s birthday on June 21, Zion wished her, “Happy Birthday Mom, I love you, thank you for everything ❤️❤️❤️.”

Zion Clark siblings
Now talking about siblings, Zion Clark has two. We know them as Quamarri Clark and Indonesia Clark, the biological children of Kimberlli Hawkins. Quamarri is 32 years old and was born in October 1990. She is the mother of two children.
His other sister, Indonesia aka Indy Clark, is 26. On Indy’s 23rd birthday in November 2019, Kimberlli wished her daughter, “Shout out to the world Happy 23rd Birthday to my middle child, Indy. She can be crazy sometimes but I love this Lil Heff to the moon and back! Mom, Mom, Zion, Malia and adopted daughter showed up with Mickey and Minnie for her birthday! Family first! Love you Doll.”
Many sibling relationships eventually face challenges that must be overcome. For Zion and Indy Clark, it was no different. Despite the fact that they were not born together, their love blossomed almost immediately because they had similar outlooks on life. “Just always being around his personality,” Indy Clark said in a phone interview from Louisiana in 2016. “It was really like a brother-sister relationship. I will always be a fan of his.”
“He likes to tease me,” she said. “We tease each other.” Still, she admires her brother.
“People love to make excuses for why they can’t do something,” she said. “You look at Zion, and Zion doesn’t make excuses, he just does it. He doesn’t consider himself disabled, so no one else should either.”
