Glastrier is making its way to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet via Indigo Disc, joining many other Legendary Pokémon. Interestingly, the ice horse first appeared in the Crown Tundra DLC in Generation VIII, and now it’s back again as part of the Generation IX DLC.

Glastrier is famous for teaming up with another eighth generation legend, Calyrex, to become Calyrex, the Ice Knight. But even on its own, the Ice Horse is awesome. Unfortunately, you can’t ride the Glastrier in the Paldea region (that’s what Koraidon and Miraidon are for), but that won’t stop you from trying to catch it. How to get Glastrier in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Indigo board?
To get Glasrier in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s The Indigo Disk, you need to follow these steps:
- Complete DLC Storyline: Complete the main story of The Indigo Disk.
- Collect Legendary Foods: After completing the story, start collecting special items called Legendary Foods. Each Legendary Pokémon requires a specific treat to appear, and for Glasrier, you’ll need its unique treat, the Glastrier Treat.
- Meet Snacksworth: Go to the entrance to Blueberry Academy and talk to the NPC named Snacksworth. He probably has the weirdest name in the game! He will give you some tasks called Blueberry Quests (BBQ) for you to complete in the terrarium.
- Complete the BBQ: Complete these missions, either solo or in a group, and continue with Snacksworth. As you complete more tasks, he will reward you with legendary delicacies. Eventually, you’ll get the Glasrier Treat from him.
- Find Glastriel: Once you acquire Glastriel delicacies, Glastriel will begin to appear in Pardia. It’s an Ice-type Pokémon, so it’s hidden in the Gracedo Mountains directly south of the Gracedo Gym.
- Find Glasrier: Go to Glaseado Gym, then use Koraidon or Miraidon to slide south down the mountain. As you descend, you’ll find Glasrier, the ice horse, waiting calmly on the snowy slopes.
- Fight and Capture: Fight Glasrier and try to capture it. Remember, this is a one-time encounter, so save your game before fighting. Also, no matter how hard you try, it doesn’t come out as a Shiny Pokémon.
Follow these steps and you’ll encounter and hopefully capture Graster in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Indigo Disk!

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are games launching in 2022 on Nintendo Switch. They are the first of the ninth set of Pokémon games. These games are different because they take place in a region called Pardia, which, like the Iberian Peninsula, has a large open world.
In these games, players can complete three different stories. Scarlet and Violet showcased 110 new Pokémon, including two new varieties unique to the region, as well as some special Pokémon called Paradox Pokémon. They also have something called Terastal, which turns Pokémon into a special “Tera Type”.
The games received some mixed feedback from experts. Some people like the open world and story, but others don’t like the look of the game or some of the issues it had when it first launched. Even so, they sold a lot, like over 23 million copies, by September 2023. So while they’ve received some criticism, many people still really like them and think they bring something new to the Pokémon games.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Gameplay
In Pokémon Crimson and Violet, the gameplay follows the pattern we’re used to of catching Pokémon, exploring, and fighting trainers. But there’s a cool new twist! Players can now choose if they want to fight trainers on special paths. Unlike older Pokémon games, these games feature vast open worlds where cities and wilderness are mixed together with no clear borders between each other.
You can choose your own path and do things in any order you like, which is pretty neat. There are 112 new Pokémon in these games, including newcomers like Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly, as well as two legendary Pokémon, Koraidon and Miraidon, that can help you travel the world. They also gave some Pokémon new forms, such as Paradox Pokémon and “Convergent Evolution” Pokémon, which look like other Pokémon but are completely different.

You can even have your Pokémon roam the world and automatically battle other wild Pokémon! Plus, you can team up with three friends for cooperative play. One super cool thing is the Terastal thing, which makes Pokémon look crystal-like and change their type. It’s like they got special moves to match their new types, which is awesome.
Pokémon scarlet and violet plot
In Pokémon Crimson and Violet, players begin as a new Pokémon trainer in the Pardia region. The story begins with them embarking on a journey to become Pokémon Champions. Along the way, they meet Professor Cypress, who guides them and gives them their first Pokémon.
As players explore the open-world Paldea region, they encounter Team Umbra, a mysterious, trouble-making organization with ambitious goals. Throughout the adventure, players aim to thwart Team Umbra’s plans while challenging gym leaders and powerful trainers, and solving the mystery behind the legendary Pokémon, Koraidon and Miraidon. The journey is filled with friendship, battle, discovery, and the ultimate goal of becoming the champion of the region while ensuring peace in Paldia.
