early life
GoodGirl LA’s love for music is innate, but her environment has also played a major role in her growth as an artist.
She was born in Ajegunle to Mr. and Mrs. Ekuma. She came into this world on February 20, 1997. She is the second child of Mr. and Mrs. Ekuma and has three siblings.
Although she grew up in Lagos, she hails from the South-South region, from Cross Rivers State. An Ijaw woman, Euphemia discovered her musical talent at a young age and formed relationships with other music lovers in Ajegunle during her teenage years.
GoodGirl LA grew up listening to artists such as D’Banj, 2Baba, Faze, P-Square, Wande Coal, Sasha, Olu Maintenance, etc., which fostered her love for hip-hop and African music. She was an active member of her church choir and served as one of the lead singers. Her time in the choir helped her develop her own sound and musical style.
Like any other musical artist, she aspired to achieve greatness and early in her career, she participated in various music and talent competitions in the country. This included the popular reality show Nigerian Idol.

GoodGirl LA obtained her Junior School Certificate at Kings Foundation Primary School. To further her studies, she continued her secondary education at Hopebay College.
After six years of study, she obtained her West African School Certificate from the school.
She enrolled at the University of Calabar to study for a degree in nursing but dropped out at the age of 19.
She studied at MUSON Conservatory of Music in Lagos and obtained a degree in Music Theory.

Before becoming a professional musician, she came up with the stage name “GoodGirl LA”.
Although she released her first single in 2015, she shot to fame after the release of the hit single “Faraway” in 2018.
The single received months of continuous play on radio and television in the country and helped solidify her position as one of the leading figures in African pop music. She continued her success with another song titled “Bless Me”.
After months of waiting, GoodGirl LA finally released her debut EP, LA Confidential. Music critics praised the album highly, saying it was an excellent attempt for a new artist. The eight-track album received thousands of streams within a few months of its release, winning LA more fans. The EP was self-released by GoodGirl LA Entertainment’s record label.
In 2020, GoodGirl LA reached peak form as she released songs like “Talo Lomo,” “Jeje,” and “Current” that thrilled her fans.
In February 2021, she proved to the world that she is the queen of Afro-fusion music with the release of the song “Bando”. Just a few weeks after the release of the song, it has received thousands of streams and downloads around the world. The single is currently ranked among the top 10 Afro-fusion songs on the African continent. The music video for the song was released in March 2021.
GoodGirl LA was a guest artist on Vector’s hit song Early Momo. She has been invited to perform at shows and concerts in Nigeria and West Africa many times, sticking to her unique musical style.
