‘Greatest Love Story Never Told’ Gets Huge Attention After Ben Affleck Divorce News

Following Jennifer Lopez’s decision to officially end her marriage to Ben Affleck, her Prime Video documentary “The Greatest Love Story Never Told” has seen a surge in viewership.

The star’s divorce filing on Tuesday has sparked renewed interest in the film, which explores the budding romance between Lopez and Affleck after two decades apart.

Luminate figures cited by Billboard show that Prime Video’s documentary viewership spiked a staggering 3,000% in just one day.

On Tuesday, the show recorded 10,700 minutes of viewing. However, that number jumped to 354,100 minutes on Wednesday.

The big change comes as Lopez filed for divorce in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday, and some fans are now speculating that the documentary has a deeper meaning.

Lopez’s petition to end her marriage was filed on what would have been their second wedding anniversary in Georgia on August 20, 2022.

According to TMZ, their official separation date listed in Lopez’s filing is April 26 — less than eight weeks after the documentary premiered on February 27.

However, some fans claim that the documentary has revealed cracks in their marriage.

In the first few minutes of the documentary, the “Jenny From the Block” singer reveals the creative spark behind her latest musical project, which was inspired by a series of heartfelt love letters sent to her by the “Gone Girl” actor. These handwritten notes served as inspiration for the musicians and instrumentalists who collaborated with her on the new album.

One striking letter reads: “The greatest love story never told of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck from 2001-2010… and still going…”

But the documentary also reveals Affleck’s moments of hesitation and anxiety about having his private life exposed to the public.

The “Hustlers” star has been candid about how while Affleck encourages her efforts, he struggles with being seen as an inspiration. He stressed his belief that personal matters are sacred and special “because they are personal.”

“I was like, ‘You showed all these letters to all the musicians?’ And they were like, ‘Yeah, we call you Pen Affleck.’ And I was like, ‘Oh my gosh,'” Affleck confessed.

While acknowledging Affleck’s discomfort with being in the spotlight, Lopez said her husband also supports her in doing things that make her happy.

“But he loves me, he knows I’m an artist and he’s going to support me in any way he can because he knows he can’t stop me from making music and writing the lyrics that I write,” the “Maid In Manhattan” actress said.

“It was going to happen,” she added, “and he didn’t want to stop me.”

After rekindling their romance in 2021, Affleck found it difficult to deal with the attention on his relationship with Lopez.

As revealed in the documentary, the couple admitted that they faced intense scrutiny when they first got engaged.

The media frenzy put a strain on their relationship and eventually led to the cancellation of their wedding in 2003, just days before the scheduled date.

The “Batman v Superman” actor confessed in the film, “Initially, I had a very clear sense of boundaries around the press, whereas I don’t think Jen was against it the way I was. I was really against it.”

Affleck added: “When I went back, I said, ‘Listen, one of the things I don’t want is a social media relationship.'”

“And then I realized that it’s not fair to ask,” he concluded. “It’s like when you marry a captain, you want to like water. We’re just two people with different approaches, trying to learn to compromise.”
