Halsey reveals she suffered a ‘very scary’ seizure and was hospitalized

Halsey had health problems that required her to be hospitalized.

The 29-year-old beauty first caused concern when she shared a video of herself in the hospital with her fiancé, actor Avan Jogia.

“Happy Belated Bisexual Coming Out Day,” she captioned the Instagram post.

“This year, I’m going to celebrate by dying next to a man (for legal reasons, this is just a joke),” Halsey continued.

In the video she shared, Halsey can be seen lying in a hospital bed with an IV in her arm. The “Without Me” singer also held up a peace sign.

She shared more details about what led to her hospitalization on her X account. She posted on social media that she had a seizure.

“Is it related to a chronic health issue or something new/acute? I hope you’re feeling better!” one fan asked her.

“I have epilepsy! It’s scary! Don’t do that!” she replied.

“I was discharged home after a few days, so a win is a win!” she continued.

Halsey’s health concerns come as the star prepares for a busy year. She’s set to release her new album, The Great Imposter on October 25. The album details some of the health issues she has faced over the past few years.

Above Doctor During the August 6 podcast, Halsey spoke about her battle with the autoimmune disease lupus.

“I have lupus, and sometimes lupus has other complications. I disclosed a few years ago that I have Sjogren’s Syndrome, which is a condition that often accompanies—that is, accompanies—lupus. Since lupus is an autoimmune condition, it can sometimes suppress your immune system to the point where you develop a T-cell disorder,” she says.

“I was sick a lot. I lost a lot of weight,” Halsey added.

In a post earlier this year, Halsey shared that she was also diagnosed with “a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder.”

“Both diseases are currently under control or in remission; and I will likely have both for the rest of my life,” she shared in the Instagram post.

“After a rough start, I’ve slowly gotten things under control with the help of amazing doctors. After 2 years, I feel better and I’m more grateful than ever to have music to turn to. I can’t wait to get back where I belong: With all of you,” she added.
