early life
Hanks Anuku was born in Ibadan, Nigeria in 1960, just weeks before the country’s independence.
He grew up in Ibadan and received his primary and secondary education in Ibadan, the largest city in West Africa.
However, the famous actor is originally from Delta State.
In 2017, Hanks Anuku became a Ghanaian citizen and changed his name from Hanks Anuku to Nana Kwame Fifi Kakra Anuku and moved to Accra, Ghana with his family.
Hanks Anuku has renounced his Nigerian citizenship and is now a legal citizen of Ghana.

Hanks Anuku received his primary and secondary education in Ibadan. He attended Loyola College, Ibadan and after completing secondary school, he continued his studies at Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State, where he obtained his Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mass Communication in 1981.

Hanks Anuku joined the film industry in 1993 soon after returning from the United States (he is a naturalized citizen of the United States), where he worked briefly as an actor.
But it wasn’t until 1994 that the tall, fair-skinned actor made his film debut in Fidelis Duke’s film “Skull.” Riding on the success of “Skull,” he starred in other films, including “Wild Romance,” “Akidi,” “Dear Sister” and “Django.”

Hanks Anuku is multilingual and speaks Igbo, Yoruba and three European languages (Italian, German and French) fluently.
He loves adventure and has traveled to many countries around the world. He said that if he stays in one place for too long, he usually gets bored. “If you stay in one place for too long, you get bored,” he said in an interview.
As an adventurous person, I take time to travel and relax. Even if my job requires me to be around for a long time, I will go out for a drive.
There are a lot of demands on us, so I usually travel to relax and not get exhausted.”
Hanks Anuku admitted that he had recently passed HIV to his wife, which led to the breakdown of their marriage. However, he is happily married and has three children. He currently lives in South Africa.
